You have the right to choose if you awant to insure yourself against risk, however in this age of the Compensation Culture, it is most advisable and with little expense. You may source your own insurance, but for a more complete modeller cover, there is nothing better than that provided by the BMFA. Furthermore, if you wish to attend any organised function, you will be expected to show proof of such insurance.

If you have concerns about the way that the legislation affects you, your only sorce to air you views is with the BMFA who negotiate directly with the CAA and other bodies, so if you are not a member, either directly with the BMFA or with assosciated bodies such as BARCS, then for the modest charge you will become a member AND have flying insurancs.
